PERSONALITY
Sariel is obsessed with the idea of creating a better world for everyone. Yet this simple idea has corrupted Sariel, he now does whatever he can to make his dream a reality. He has no problem doing what he must to reach his goals, even if that means killing. Sariel believes that through his power he will create peace.
The only person that means anything to Sariel, is Zelena. In some ways the reason Sariel does what he does is for her. He wants her to be happy and if that means giving her all the power in the world he will Sariel will stop at nothing to make Zelena even if that means going deeper into darkness.

HISTORY
Before the times of Wicked Witches and girls from Kansas the land of Oz was ruled over by a true Wizard and his Queen. Over the years more beings of magic appeared to help create a better world for the residents of Oz, they were to be known as the Good Witches. Happy with their actions and ability the Wizard gave them each a part of Oz to rule. It was rumored that the Wizard and one of the good witches became secret lovers. Their love produced a child, a little boy named Sariel. Fearing that the boy would expose his affair the wizard sent the boy away. Not wanting to see the boy suffer the Wizard sent Sariel to the East in Munchkin Country. Even though it was far from the Emerald City it would be a safe place for Sariel to grow up. Even at a young age Sariel knew he was different, and it wasn’t just his height. The magic that was flowing through Sariel was growing stronger each day. He was quickly learning that he could change the world around him with a simple flick of the wrist. The fact that he was growing stronger had caught the attention of the advisors to the wizard. They began to worry that Sariel would grow too strong and overthrow the wizard.
With his power growing Sariel began to change from the simple boy to a man who thought he was better than everyone around him. He soon looked down on all the other creatures in Oz. He felt that he should be ruling over them, while also creating a better world. Using his powers Sariel quickly moved to conquer Munchkin Country. Knowing about the deadly desert and the evil it contained Sariel went to it. Thanks to the army he raised from the bones of dead warriors and creatures found in the deadly desert, Munchkin Country fell to Sariel. It didn't take long for the news of what happened in the East to reach the Wizard. When the wizard heard about this he sent his army to help free the East from Sariel’s rule. The army was quickly defeated but the wizard kept sending more men to take the land. Each time he did the army was defeated. Sariel was pushing toward the Emerald City and would soon call it his. It was at this time the three good witch’s of Oz came to the aid of the Wizard. They teleported Sariel to the other side of the deadly desert. It would keep Sariel from ever returning to the land of Oz. The land was once again safe or so people thought.
It took years for Sariel to cross the deadly desert. During his time in the desert he would enhance his dark magic with ancient items in the desert. When he finally made it back to Oz he found it to have changed greatly. The wizard had gone missing or was dead and there was a new ruler in his place, Zelena. She has been ruling Oz for some time with her flying monkeys. Just like before it didn't take long for Zelena to hear about her new guest in Oz. They would have their first meeting in the old castle of the good witch of the East. There was no huge fight just a simple conversation over some food, it was at this time they became allies. Sariel became one of her generals and began to bring the other parts of Oz under their control. Sariel even defeated the last of the good witches but did not kill them for one of them was his mother. Once all of Oz was under their control Sariel began to mold the people and the land into what he felt was best. Zelena was too busy to worry about things like that. She soon left him in charge and disappeared to the enchanted forest.
Sariel has heard rumors that Zelena was defeated and in need of help in this new world she was in. In the time that Zelena was away Sariel created a better world where peace ruled as long as they bowed to him. So the idea of conquering a new world interested Sariel. Using ancient magic that was neither light nor dark Sariel teleported to Zelena’s last known location, Storybrooke. He waited in the shadows while the townspeople dealt with beings that controlled ice. But now he is ready to put his plan into action, he will bring peace to this world and become their new God.
